The Africa – Global Trade &Investment Awards scheme to be referred to subsequently as its acronym AGTIE is uniquely designed to identify and publicly recognize enterprises and their owners/CEOs all around the continent whose exemplary track records of accomplishment and proven capacities to deliver on their end of international trade and investment transactions and longer term relationships, make them excellent trade and investment counterparties in Africa. It is also to identify and publicly recognize Africans in the diaspora who are interested in serving as investment partners and/or trade counterparties to such African enterprises; as well as exemplary public officials from some African countries who are key in facilitating such relationships. To this end the awardees will comprise a grouping of outstanding corporations, as represented by their respective CEOs, with regards to their capacities to engage in trade, investment and business-to business transactions between enterprises domiciled in Africa and enterprises situated in other continents around the world.
Because of this award scheme’s global perspective the awards conferment event itself will be held in Dubai, UAE
Awardees will be chosen through a comprehensive selection process involving nominations, verification and authentication and ultimately the assessment of short listed nominees by a special Awards Selection Jury, comprising six Africans and three non –Africans, of proven pedigree in trade and investment activities. However there will also be two other groups of awardees – one, of diasporan Africans who in 2019/2020 contributed significantly to promoting Africa’s image and reputation as a trade and investment counterparty for international business, and the other, a select group of public official identified as having played exemplary roles in facilitating trade and investment between African countries and the rest of the world.
